UPDATE:Hello!
We appreciate your registration for the Upstanding Conference that was set for March 21st at the Eccles Conference Center on USU’s campus. In an effort to support USU and their temporary suspension of all non-essential campus activities for the next couple of weeks, due to CoVID-19 concerns, the Upstanding Conference will be postponed. We will be working with Eventbrite to schedule refunds as soon as possible. Refunds will be given to the amount of the ticket purchased but will not include additional fees through Eventbrite. If you have questions please let me know and I will do my best to work through them with you.
Although the conference is postponed, we want to ensure that you still get the opportunity to learn from our amazing line of speakers that were set to present. We will be working with our speakers to record their presentations and will launch a website before the end of May with the conference content. Information on this page and content will be shared with you as we get closer to launching. We hope you will continue on this journey with us in our virtual conference and will be back with us in person again next year for the 5th annual Upstanding Conference!
Warm regards,

The Upstanding Conference is for youth (13+), Utah State University students, adults, and professionals of all fields who want to make a difference by standing up to violence and supporting their friends, family, and communities. Classes cover abuse and suicide prevention, resiliency, social-emotional learning, creating inclusive spaces, Upstanding in action, and more!
This year, there will be a designated USU student track, which will include the following three sessions:
- Creating a Welcoming Campus Environment: Inclusion and Implicit Bias – Ugo Ezeh
- Upstanding in Practice: Student Leaders Panel – Nathon Taylor (moderator)
- Escalation: Relationship Violence Prevention Workshop – Felicia Gallegos
Additionally, a USU graduate student, Andres Brown, will be the lunch keynote speaker.
Registration and more details are available through the Upstanding conference’s Eventbrite registration form. The registration fee is $25, which covers lunch and material experiences.
USU students can use the promo code “Unlimited” to receive a discounted registration rate ($10). USU students in financial need can use the promo code “USUstudentFA” to receive an additionally discounted registration rate ($5).
Questions about the conference can be directed to me (emmalee.fishburn@usu.edu), Felicia Gallegos (felicia.gallegos@usu.edu), or Shellie Heyrend (shellie@capsa.org).
